01 Mary Magdalene

From all the men she has known in the past

No love could be gained spiritually

Nor deep affection expressed so gently

To transcend passion and comfort the heart

But this one man who alone stood apart

Her soul he touched to restore beauty

Enhancing thus its sense of purity

That through his presence love she may impart

No more would desire dominate her mind

To cause shameful acts of a lost woman

She would hereafter be saintly and kind                        Apostolica

A pleasant delight to all her kinsmen                            Soneta 015

Many found her self a true wonderment                         Petrarca

A new creation seeming so divine                                        AD 2002

02 Judas Iscariot

Should a great messiah be so gentle

Meek and humble with no royal command?

What was his real political demand

Which would give his imperial mantle?

Provoking heaven he was then betrayed

Now all the angels should come to protect

Perhaps the people would join the project

And the doomed Romans could be assailed

How disappointing to the scheming mind

For the messiah was condemned to die

Soneta 016                               Upon the cross -- a truly shameful sign --

Apostolica                                   A gentle life was about to expire

Sonetaria                                    Overcome by guilt the schemer did try

AD 2002                                    To make amends by ending his own line

03 Thomas Didymus

By reasoning mind he discovered life

And understood the mysteries of man

Perhaps even better than all his friends

At least he thought so or clearly aspired

Until the moment this came to an end

When he doubted the power of his God

At the resurrection of his good Lord

What he saw then failed his reasoning game

This experience had him really caught

In the strangest phenomena of all

There stood the master in a transformed mode           Apostolica

A reality no one dared to call                                         Soneta 017

A heavenly truth to negate the fall                                  Sonetaria

Now apparent against logical thought                                AD 2002

04 John Evangel

In the dining couch of the last supper

A gentle youth sat beside the great soul

Whom he has adored as a good master

A divine person in his human role

As he leaned against the beloved one

To him was shared the tearful cup of wine

From which the truthful man would never run

Making this night a truly sacred time

                                                Love thus perfected became eternal

Generating a deep sense of oneness

Apostolica                                From a touch that was supernatural

Soneta 018                                  Love ushered in a state of blessedness

Anglicia                                         Having been found by the greatest of love

AD 2002                                          This human soul would always be alive
