20 My Genesis 01 The Beginning 02 The Wandering 03 The Affirming ****************************************************************************************************
From old Africa we have all thus come Through great distances, over many lands Fifty thousand years was the span of time Since our ancestors left in their small bands Perhaps hard climate had forced them to go Or some food shortage that grew so acute Whatever it was they could stay no more Or else death would come, so cruel and brute No one could have thought what the future held And how those poor folks would people the earth For none could have seen or knowingly felt My Genesis That these migrations were like a new birth Soneta 058 The first simple steps in that ancient age Anglicia Became for the world a new story page AD 2003
Following the flight of birds and wild beasts These simple men ceaselessly struggled on Fighting to fulfil their own daily needs And survive through time till their days be done Across great deserts, mountains and rivers They roamed the earth in search of better of life A tribe of hunters and food gatherers Who carried the seed of fine selfless love In all continents they did multiply To lay the future for the whole mankind My Genesis Tillers of the earth, watchers of the sky Soneta 059 Speeches did they make to convey their minds Anglicia What a far journey, across time and space AD 2003 Truly an epic of the human race
Feeling so humble I held my silence To honour the ones who have brought me here And passed on the gene of my existence For the sake of life they all held so dear Here I am today a mere legacy Of those who struggled so hard to survive Being a small branch of one ancient tree And yet empowered to serve the One Life Thus have I received from those who once lived A life so precious and sense of purpose To be what I am with all my belief My Genesis To grow and expanse as life may propose Soneta 060 Knowing not what shall there be at the end Anglicia To this task I must truthfully attend AD 2003
