The feeling of parting is great
To leave a love to wrench one’s heart
Sitting or standing the tension’s the same
Where can consolation be found?
Here and there in search of peace
Recalling the love of one and all
While troubled heart is given to song
The voice refuses to sing
And where can you sing
When thorns have pierced your soul
And heart and mind are lost in travail?
Where can you find joy
For aren’t we left completely alone
While memories fly in swift pursuit?
